Thirty units of insulin a day, and a GP who told her to eat what she liked and manage the rest with the needle. Hannah was surviving her diabetes, not living with it.

She had spent years caught in yo-yo dieting, lethargic and overwhelmed, with her blood sugars and her confidence both out of her hands. When she came to Tanvir, the goal was never a quick drop on the scale. It was building a way of eating and training that worked with her Type 1, not against it.

Hannah had never set foot in a gym, and she had no wish to. So we built her whole programme around her own front room: bodyweight training and a set of resistance bands, with her treadmill earning her steps every single day. No commute and no crowd, just a routine that fitted her life and that she could keep up.

Over nine months of coaching, the change was total. Her daily insulin fell from 30 units to just 5. Her body fat dropped from 48% to 25%. She lost 20.5cm from her waist and went from a size 16 down to a 6 to 8, ending up 24kg lighter at 52kg. And her Type 1 is now something she manages with confidence, not something that runs her life.

The shift went beyond the numbers. The quiet, shy woman who started this slowly came out of her shell. Month by month, Hannah began reaching for brighter, bolder clothes, smiling more, and carrying herself like someone who finally felt at home in her own body.
